Dr. Ari S. Friedlaender presents
“Risso’s Dolphin Foraging Ecology in Monterey Bay”

Join the American Cetacean Society Monterey Bay Chapter for our next in-person meeting featuring Dr. Ari S. Friedlaender.

Dr. Friedlaender is a Professor in the Ocean Sciences Department and Institute for Marine Sciences at UC Santa Cruz. His research focuses on developing new tools and technologies to understand the impacts of climate change and other human disturbances on marine mammals.

For his ACS presentation, “Risso’s Dolphin Foraging Ecology in Monterey Bay,” Dr. Friedlaender will share new insights into how Risso’s dolphins forage in Monterey Bay. His research uses video-recording tags and continuous acoustic and video-recording surveys of prey to better understand the relationship between these dolphins and their environment.
